Upgrade from 2.x to 3.x

This guide describes the steps to perform an upgrade of the component from version 2.x to 3.x.

Before upgrading to version 3.x, please ensure that your Kubernetes cluster is running the version 1.17 or later.

Step-by-step guide (Optional)

The node label used by the CSI driver called region has been renamed to csi.cloudscale.ch/zone. If you don’t need the region label on the specific cluster for an other purpose, you are free to remove them. If you keep them, it will stay configued in the node object, but is no longer managed by the CSI driver.

  1. To remove the no longer used region lables on all affected node objects:

    kubectl label no -l region region-

  2. Verify there are no more node objects with a region label:

    kubectl get no -l csi.cloudscale.ch/zone
